Wendy is a 5 Steps to Rapid Employment Master Coach, Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA), Certified DISCstyles™ Communication Consultant (CDCC), Certified and Professional Resume Writer (CPRW).
I have an extensive professional and personal background in writing, as a resume writer and as a freelance writer, poet, and blogger. Her professional writing assignments include marketing content, sales collateral, biographies, artist statements, and thousands of resumes, social media profiles, and bios spanning all industries and professional levels. She is a member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches (PARWCC) since 1985, and of The National Resume Writers’ Association (NRWA), and a former member of Career Directors International (CDI). Wendy’s resume specialty areas span industries and functions, with a unique mix of capabilities and success spanning technology, engineering, and science ... through business and operations leadership ... sales, business development, marketing, and advertising ... to not-for-profit and the arts ... with significant experience in C- level, executive-level, and senior management. Prior to her career as a resume writer, Wendy worked in television broadcasting, as an F.C.C. First Class Engineer and Production Director for WJW in Cleveland, Ohio and WOKR (currently WHAM) in Rochester, New York. In the transition between broadcasting and resume writing, she was a Writing Center Coordinator and Writing Tutor at the State University of New York - Empire State College. Wendy shares the following message: I was intrigued from the first moment I read the bold claim accredited to Socrates that "the unexamined life is not worth living" and it has been a touchstone throughout my life. And, through the power of hindsight, I see its influence powering many of my career choices and life activities. Socrates’ unequivocal statement is at the heart of who and why I am a writer. It drove my study of philosophy in college; powered an ongoing personal commitment to spiritual, religious, and theological immersion—including more than 15 years of dedicated study and practice in Buddhism, culminating in my induction as a Sensei (teacher) and Lay Minister with the Bright Dawn Center of Oneness Buddhism in 2009, and recent selection as Ministry Faculty member. And—most importantly—it motivates my concern for my clients, as a career coach and resume writer. As Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA) and Certified DISCstyles TM Communication Consultant, I use DISC assessments as a tool to “examine” my clients’ communication styles and behavioral strengths, because I have seen how DISC assessments and companion behavioral and communications coaching can make a significant positive difference in the careers and lives of my clients. DISC assessments not only offer an expedited way to get to know my clients and help me understand how to consult with and market them, they also offer my clients a way to get know and value themselves. When we truly examine our lives, we see patterns of behavior. Patterns that illustrate both our strengths and potential areas for development, providing us with an inventory of skills and blind spots. If we never become aware of those patterns and blind spots, we may repeat our mistakes unconsciously and wonder why that “perfect job” wasn’t so perfect after all, or why we are stressed. |
